Fruits Vegetables!  Old antique chromolithographs of various fruits and vegetables.  This is a great selection of old chromo lithographs of fruits and vegetables.  We have old prints of apples, oranges & even mushrooms. The USDA prints were produced around 1885 to 1915.  The US Government spent over 1 million dollars a year to produce the USDA reports that these chromolithographs came from. Nuts!  The USDA published nutty art! These are old lithographs produced by the Department of Agriculture, illustrating the best kinds of nuts to grow, how to grow them and the best conditions to do so, storing nuts, natural enemies of nuts, etc. Nut illustrations. The vintage in California – at work at the wine presses by P. Frenzeny.  A water colored wood engraving coming from Harper’s Weekly in 1886.  Outstanding condition with professional watercolor added.   15 1/2 x 22″   $1100.

This is a fantastic antique engraving coming from Harper’s Weekly published in 1886.  It is considered the best piece ever to be produced on making wine in America.’  It was drawn by P. Frenzeny,  who was hired by Harper’s Weekly in the 1870’s and 1880’s to illustrate interesting scenes in the west.  He was considered one of the best western artist of the time.  And his marvelous illustrations one back readership from competitive newspapers.

Every part of the vintage is shown in explicit detail. The wine press is being handled manually the Chinese are bringing in grapes to be pressed, the collection baskets are clearly shown, the huge barrels of wine, the stomping of the grapes and the tasting are clearly shown.  In excellent condition.  Look no further for great wine decor!  This is classic!
