These are great old chicken prints of hens and roosters come from a rare breeding catalog produced in Germany. The salesman would show up at your farm, WOW you with the great images in the catalog. Then you would place your chicken order. This Kramer Poultry Chromolithograph was published in 1897, then and again, in 1907. This old poultry print is exemplary of the art of chromo lithography, an antique printing method employed during the mid to late 1800’s. The colors are striking and brilliant. A lost printing process called chromolithography was used to produce these beautiful old prints. In this process each color was applied in a separate process from key stoned limestone plates, from lightest to darkest colors. Each poultry print measures 5 x 7 1/4″ and are fairly priced at $45. each.
