Fille De L’air Horse Racing in the 1930’s

An antique lithograph is more than 90 years old. A French horse racing color lithograph. This colorful and large equestrian piece published c.1930 by the most famous of all Parisian printing companies: Le Mercier Publishing Company.  One of the best French color lithography companies in the world. This was the Art Deco period in Paris. There French posters were printed for clients around the world. Exceptionally bright colors. Mint condition.

Color lithography is an obsolete antique printing technique. It is a process utilized mostly during the mid to late 19th century. Moreover it required skilled craftsmen to produce a quality piece of art. Each and every color in Fille De L’air was meticulously applied with keystone limestone plates. Lithographers utilizing this technique of printing trained for half one’s life to perfect the technique. Furthermore LeMercier Publishing Company Paris was known to employ the best in the field.
