Purchase this original 18th century engraving from Buffon’s monumental work entitled Histoire Naturelle. Published 1749 through 1761 in Paris and Amsterdam. George Leclerc the Compte de Buffon was a brilliant French naturalist & had great inherited wealth. A fine copper plate engraving on hand made hand laid linen rag with modern water color illumination. In very good condition, the prints measure 8 x 11”.
